Needed a Storm Sandy against our mindset

Why? That’s the question, right? While reading an article on “Hurricane Sandy on verge of New Jersey landfall” in Times of India e-paper, happened to come across a host of comments against America; the comments which mostly reflected a concept more or less like “the nation America and its people is very much deserved this kind of furious returns as like interests for their deposits and investments in other countries.” 😦

How narrow and conventional are our attitudes. 😦 We are too indifferent to realise the fact that millions of lives are in danger. And it’s not a good time to debate on their unacceptable political policies. Realising, it’s really the high time to have a sandy storm on our mindset to get it purified. 😛

“OMG!! What a miracle it is!! It would be easier to believe if you said that you saw a host of white crows flying around than to believe Carl Marx started to speak for America 😀 ” Friends wondered.

Dear friends, we are not totally deprived of at least an ember of humanity. And, I believe a true patriotic is the one who grows into a level of global patriotism where the whole world is our nation (though I need a H1B visa to go and visit all in the US after hurricane is completely over and I am safe to travel.)

Besides, my friend Despina (New York) really helped me shed some light on my prejudiced mind. Thanks a bunch dear friend. Hope everything will be alright there very soon. 🙂

Finally, though Empathy won’t be practical at this juncture, we can at least express our sympathy keeping away from apathy.   Wish you all great strength to swim across all the blues in which you are marooned unfortunately.  😦

Be safe. Everything will surely be alright 🙂

About Britton

It's a chattering of an eccentric who often can't control his vagrant thoughts while he is wandering around in search of the unknown. Well, it seems like, this world is an asylum N it invites each N everyone to have a stroll through this asylum. Further, for me it's a madylum :) Humiliating mockeries all around, crushing anguish within, boring day-to-day chores.... oh! He has to wade through all these. :-( N the weary traveler should plod on. No matter what.

I agree with this entirely. It wouldn’t matter what country this happened in. We are all people with families, loves and lives. The people that say these things are looking at things on a macro rather than micro level and their biases and prejudices are based hate with no thought for their brothers and sisters of humanity. It’s sad. Jen
